Construction progress made over summer; projects continue into fall

Physical Facilities managed or completed a number of construction, maintenance and repair, renovation and landscaping projects over the summer.

In addition to Stadium Avenue and a portion of Williams Street opening ahead of schedule as part of the State Street Redevelopment Project, the following projects were also completed on the West Lafayette campus:

* Hall for Discovery Learning and Research third- and fourth-floor renovation.
* Hillenbrand Residence Hall bathroom renovation and sewer replacement phase I.
* Earhart Hall bathroom renovation.
* Construction of four gravel lots near Fifth and Russell streets.

The projects listed below will start or continue in the fall with vehicular and/or pedestrian implications in the nearby areas.

* Jischke Hall of Biomedical Engineering addition, near Martin Jischke Drive and Harrison Street.
* STEM Teaching Lab Building, north of the Armory and Elliott Hall of Music.
* Agricultural and Biological Engineering renovation and addition, South University Street and Clinic Drive.
* Utility and preparation work south of Meredith Residence Hall and east of Third Street Suites.

* Infrastructure work around Elliott Hall of Music.
* Irrigation work northwest of the Córdova Recreational Sports Center with nearby sidewalk restrictions in place.
* Horticulture Garden renovation with surrounding sidewalk restrictions.

Several other projects will also continue beyond summer with minimal campus travel effects including Hampton Hall ground floor and basement renovation, Heine Pharmacy Building student collaboration and study space renovation and Brees Student-Athlete Academic Center first-floor renovation.

When necessary, individual notifications will be released for project disruptions on the Physical Facilities Construction and Travel Notices webpage. In addition to the ongoing projects at Purdue, the final phase of the State Street Redevelopment Project will continue through the end of the year affecting McCormick Road, Airport Road, and the new Williams Street extension to Harrison Street. The City of West Lafayette also has a number of construction projects in the area, including private housing developments near campus.
