Anthem's redesigned website makes managing benefits surprisingly easy

Recently, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield -- Purdue's medical plan administrator – redesigned www.anthem.com to make managing health benefits easier for employees covered on a Purdue medical plan.

Enhancements to the redesigned website allow for easier access to benefit information (including what's covered and related costs), status of claims, finding an in-network doctor and additional health and wellness tools, including direct access to LiveHealth Online, as well as resources to empower individuals to take an active role in their health and help them make informed health care decisions.

Current members do not need to re-register to use the newly designed site. Those who need to register can do so easily using the member's ID card. Anthem is committed to keeping members' personal information safe on www.anthem.com; therefore, Anthem has added an extra layer of security via two-factor authentication. Anthem will send a one-time security code to members as part of the log-in process when a member forgets his or her password or uses a new device to log into anthem.com.

Once logged in, members will get access to a comprehensive set of online tools and information. The home menu provides quick access to key information and useful tools. The "Welcome" menu on the left side of the home page provides quick access to view benefits, find a doctor and request an Anthem ID card if needed. The "Menu" link on the top left of the homepage is the gateway to all functionality on the site and links directly to topics such as "My Plan," "Care" and "Support." The "Support" section provides information on how to contact Anthem via phone or by message as well as an FAQ platform that displays frequently asked questions on a variety of topics related to your benefits.

Also accessible via the "Menu" link is navigation to LiveHealth Online. LiveHealth Online provides a convenient way to talk with a provider virtually from your computer or mobile device.
