Account Management Information System launched

Effective Monday (July 23), the Account Information Management System became available for use by faculty and financial units. Before the SAP upgrade and new general ledger (finance) transformation, faculty and financial units accessed GM Aims to review reports designed to help manage sponsored funds.

AIMS now includes balance and transaction data not only on Grants Management projects but also on departmental and faculty allocation accounts as a result of the Transform Purdue project. For the faculty allocation accounts, there is an Account Summary and Funded Program view and the ability to drill through to transactions. For faculty with both Grant and Non-Grant activity, there are now separate tabs to access each.  The ability to have this holistic view available to faculty and others will allow the addition of future functionality, such as projections, to the reporting inventory.

AIMS is available now, but a few changes to its design will be made to improve the usability. For approximately the next 30 days, for projects that started before July 1, AIMS will require the user to input both the old grant number and also the new grant number to see all transactions, both historical and current. This cumbersome process will be short-lived. The conversion of financial accounts changed virtually every account number in the University. It will take some time before everyone is comfortable with the new accounts.

AIMS will be upgraded in mid-August so that all data will be presented by accessing just the new grant number. Until the new design is implemented, all transactions that were connected to the conversion of data at go-live (balance conversion) will appear as July 2018 month-to-date activity.

AIMS is accessible using the same links as before through the OneCampus portal. Once logged in, navigate to either Faculty Reports or Business Reports.
