Finalists for dean of the Graduate School to make on-campus presentations

Three finalists for dean of the Graduate School will be participating in interviews on Purdue's West Lafayette campus.

Ragu Balakrishnan, chair of the search committee and the Michael and Katherine Birck Head and professor of electrical and computer engineering, said that as part of the process, finalists will make a 30-minute public presentation and then take questions from the audience.

"These presentations give our faculty, staff and students an excellent opportunity to hear firsthand from the candidates,” Balakrishnan says. “I hope our Purdue community will make it a priority to attend these events."

Feedback on the candidates is requested, and an online tool will be provided on the candidate website. The link will be live after the first candidate's presentation.

Purdue's next dean of the Graduate School will succeed Mark J.T. Smith, who left Purdue to become dean of the Graduate School and senior vice provost for academic affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. Linda Mason, senior associate dean of the Graduate School and professor of entomology, has been serving as interim dean.
