1869 Tap Room announces summer hours

The 1869 Tap Room, located in Purdue Memorial Union, will remain open this summer for the first time.

The Tap Room will be open 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. It will continue to offer eight taps and a menu with items from Pappy’s Sweet Shop. Four of the beers on tap come from People’s Brewing Company, a local brewery.

Boiler Gold-American Ale will remain available over the summer. The other taps will rotate beers from local breweries across the state, as well as cider and non-alcoholic kombucha options. Wine by the glass and domestic bottles will be available also.

The 1869 Tap Room opened in October 2016 as a collaboration of Purdue Dining & Catering, the Department of Food Science and People’s Brewing Company. People’s works closely with researchers in the College of Agriculture and fermentation specialists in the Department of Food Science. Some of the hops used by People’s are locally grown and are varieties studied at Purdue.
