Update on Purdue United Way Campaign

Over the midpoint of the 2017 campaign, Purdue United Way has continued to work toward its fundraising goal of $785,000. As of Tuesday (Oct. 31), the campaign had raised $627,485, or 80 percent of the goal.

Purdue campaign leaders are hoping to reach this year’s goal by Nov. 15, which is the day of the Purdue campaign's Victory Celebration.

The goal for the entire United Way of Greater Lafayette, to which Purdue’s campaign contributes, is $2,500,000. Each year, thousands of individuals from across Tippecanoe County donate and work to support the organization’s life changing work. Purdue’s campaign has marginally increased over the years, and it continues to do so.

This year’s overall campaign theme is “United We Win.” The theme works to let people know that when they fight together and united, they can help the greater good. A video about this year’s United Way of Greater Lafayette campaign is here.

“This campaign has been filled with so much excitement and energy, and it has been really inspiring watch how the Boilermaker community has come together for such an important cause,” says Megan Dale, director of Purdue United Way. “This is about more than just fundraising. It’s about helping those that need a hand, and we want to show the Greater Lafayette community that we are here for them.”

Faculty and staff are encouraged to consider participating in this year’s campaign. Every donation, regardless of size, makes a difference.

Back this year is the ePledge online pledge system to streamline the campaign and make the experience more efficient and user-friendly. Faculty, staff and retirees may contribute to Purdue’s campaign by going online and logging into the ePledge system. Donors can choose among several methods -- payroll deduction, one-time credit card donation or recurring monthly donations, or by check.

The campaign ends Nov. 15. To count in this year’s campaign, donations must be received by that date.
