Purdue United Way Campaign needs pledges soon to make goal

Purdue's 2017 United Way campaign is looking for a rush in participation to help it reach its goal of $785,000. Purdue campaign leaders hope to reach this year's goal by Wednesday (Nov. 15), and donations toward the 2017 campaign will be accepted through 5 p.m. Nov. 15. As of Wednesday (Nov. 8), the campaign still needed $66,215 to reach its goal by the celebration event on Nov. 15.

“Purdue University has always been the No. 1 employer group to contribute to the United Way of Greater Lafayette, but other employers in the area have expanded their giving, while Purdue's total has been flat in recent years,” says Megan Dale, director of Purdue United Way. “We want to show the people of Greater Lafayette they have Purdue’s full support. Boilermakers have a way of coming together for the community.”

Back this year is the incorporation of the ePledge system to streamline the campaign and make pledging more efficient, effective and user-friendly. As in years past, donors have the ability to donate an unrestricted gift to the United Way of Greater Lafayette or can choose a specific agency for their donations. Gifts can be made in various ways, including payroll deduction or a one-time donation. To make a gift via ePledge, visit and click on the button "Purdue Employees – Give Now."
