Purdue community invited to participate in Green Week events
The West Lafayette campus will be celebrating Green Week today through Saturday (Oct. 23-28) with a variety of free events. Event registration information is included when required.
TUESDAY
Documentary Film Screening: “Before the Flood.” 7:30-9:30 p.m., Heine Pharmacy Building, Room 172.
* Open to Purdue faculty, staff and students.
* Featuring a post-viewing student-led discussion.
* Light refreshments served.
WEDNESDAY
Alternative Transportation Expo. 11 a.m.-2 p.m., south end of Memorial Mall.
* Open to the public.
* View a variety of alternative transportation modes, such as electric vehicles, bicycles and hybrids.
* A number of companies will be showcasing their products.
THURSDAY
Final Farmers Market of the season. 11 a.m.-3 p.m., north end of Memorial Mall.
* Open to the public.
FRIDAY
Seventh Annual Green Week Tree Planting volunteer opportunity. 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Event tent will be located on the east side of Haas Hall.
* Open to the public.
* Registration required (https://purdue.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bfKpPOoro9r17a5), and all volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes.
* Volunteers will learn how to properly plant trees from the Physical Facilities Grounds department and then participate in a group planting exercise.
* Lunch will be served to pre-registered volunteers in attendance at the end of the event.
SATURDAY
De-Trash the Wabash volunteer opportunity. 8:30-11:30 a.m., Tapawingo Park.
* Open to the public.
* Registration required (https://purdue.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3m8LMjqgwawlVxH), and all volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes.
* Sponsored by the Tippecanoe Partnership for Water Quality and the Wabash Riverkeepers.
