Department of Computer Science to host Family Coding Adventure

Purdue's Department of Computer Science will hold the first Code with the Kids: Family Coding Adventure from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 30) in Lawson Computer Science Building, Room B155. Registration will take place from 6 to 6:30 p.m.

Families with children in grades 3 through 8 are invited to participate in a fun night of coding and problem solving. Families will experience computer science together while solving a series of computing challenges and puzzles.

“Code with the Kids is an awesome opportunity for families to solve puzzles and try coding together,” says Phil Sands, K-12 outreach coordinator for the department. “Understanding technology is really important, and this event will help foster students’ interest in technology while letting them explore the world of computing with their parent or guardian."

No prior coding experience is necessary. Register by Thursday at cs.purdue.edu/codewiththekids.
