Purdue Month of Service: Volunteer opportunities for Boilermakers

During the month of September, Boilermakers will have the opportunity to help strengthen their community by volunteering in Purdue Month of Service. On the Purdue West Lafayette campus and in alumni clubs and networks worldwide, Boilermakers will unite to move the world forward through volunteering.

The United Way of Greater Lafayette, Purdue Alumni Association and the Purdue United Way Campaign have partnered to increase volunteerism in Greater Lafayette. More than a hundred volunteer opportunities with nonprofit organizations ranging from health and human services to environmental and animal services are available to Purdue student, faculty and staff teams who would like to volunteer locally. These opportunities can be found at www.PurdueAlumni.org/service.

Alumni are also encouraged to coordinate their own service projects in their respective communities and serve with other Boilermakers in clubs and networks across the globe. Volunteer opportunities outside of Greater Lafayette also can be found at www.PurdueAlumni.org/service.

All members of the volunteer teams that register will receive a #PurdueServes volunteer T-shirt to wear when volunteering. The shirts will be available for pickup at Boilermaker Station at the east end in Purdue Memorial Union or can be mailed upon request to alumni teams outside of the Greater Lafayette area.

Purdue faculty, staff and students wanting to volunteer during working hours can do so at their supervisor’s discretion.

To register a Purdue team to volunteer, visit www.PurdueAlumni.org/service.
