Daytime parking restrictions and evening event parking for Friday football game

Purdue's home-opening football game Sept. 8 is a Friday prime-time event, and that requires  some modifications to parking. The Boilermakers play host to Ohio at 8 p.m.

Purdue students and staff who customarily park in football game-day lots will not be permitted to do so Sept. 8 beginning at 7 a.m. Signage will be posted in the affected lots Sept. 6. A list of lots that will be closed on Sept. 8 follows:

A: North of Cary Quad/South of Ross-Ade Stadium
C: Northwest corner of Tower Drive and Beering Drive
F: North of Mackey Arena off Northwestern Avenue
G: Between Mackey Arena and Lambert Fieldhouse

H: North and west of Bimel Practice Complex
K: Northwest of Ross-Ade Stadium adjacent to Hilltop Apartments
O: Córdova Recreational Sports Center
P: Southeast of Ross-Ade Stadium

Q: Street parking between Cary Quad and Ford Dining Court
R: North of Ross-Ade Stadium
U: Spaces along Wooden Drive between Cary Quad and Lambert Fieldhouse
W: Córdova Recreational Sports Center

Y: Tower Drive north of Cary Quad
Z: Northwest of Ross-Ade Stadium facing Ackerman-Allen Golf Course

Employees may park in the surface lot north of the Armory, gravel lot north of Lawson Computer Science Building, surface lot north of the Black Cultural Center or the Grant Street Parking Garage (PGG) at no charge while following the posted permit requirements until 5 p.m. Individuals without a parking permit may park in PGG using the 24/7 pay option.

Alternate student parking will be available in the McCutcheon Drive Parking Garage, the Discovery Park Lot and the East Airport Lot for individuals with any residence hall, C or C-garage permit. CityBus will have an extra bus running the 20 AvTech route and 28 Gold Loop in order to help individuals parking in these lots get to central campus in a timely manner. CityBus pickup and drop-off for the East Airport lot is at the Niswonger Aviation Technology Building. The 17 Ross-Ade bus will not operate on Sept. 8.

Normal parking rules will be in effect during the day at the University Street Parking Garage and the Northwestern Avenue Parking Garage. However, from 6 to 8 p.m., these garages will be operating as event parking, and motorists entering either garage during this time will pay a $10 parking fee. The fee may not be paid in advance, is due upon arrival at the garage and must be paid in cash.
