University completes contract for medical lab services

Purdue has entered into a contract with Mid America Clinical Labs to provide laboratory services at both the Student Health Center (PUSH) and the Center for Healthy Living, which will provide an additional option for faculty and staff and save students money.

MACL, which currently handles laboratory services at the Center for Healthy Living, will offer the same services at PUSH. As a result, employees will have the option to use either facility for testing as a Tier 1 lab under the University’s health plans. Lab services will be in-network for major health insurance providers Anthem and United Healthcare.

Because this creates an economy of scale, students will see about a 40 percent savings for lab services.

The expanded service will take effect July 1.
