College of Pharmacy honors alumni

The faculty of the Purdue College of Pharmacy has chosen four alumni to receive the 2017 Distinguished Alumni Award. These prestigious awards, initiated in 1984, are conferred annually upon selected alumni or alumnae in recognition of their outstanding achievements in professional and scientific endeavors.

Also presented this year is the Career Achievement Award, the pinnacle award bestowed upon alumni of the college who have distinguished themselves through a lifetime of exemplary service in the field of pharmacy and service to Purdue. The 2017 Distinguished Pharmacy Alumni Program was held on Friday (March 31) in the Spurgeon Room in Mackey Arena on the West Lafayette campus.

The following individuals received the Pharmacy Distinguished Alumni Award:

* Angela M. Falzone (PhD 1990) is scientific director of the Portfolio Management Group at Janssen Pharmaceuticals.

* Alisa K. Kilgas (BS 1987) is chief executive officer at Singota Solutions.

* S. Suresh Madhavan (PhD 1988) is chair and professor of the Department of Pharmaceutical Systems and Policy for the School of Pharmacy at West Virginia University.

* Q. May Wang (PhD 1991) is senior vice president of business development and strategic alliances at Hutchinson MediPharma.

The following individual received the Pharmacy Career Achievement Award:

* Steven W. Leslie (BS 1969, MS 1972, PhD 1974) is executive vice chancellor for academic affairs at The University of Texas System.
