Free Hands-Only CPR training set for Tuesday

The American Heart Association's Hands-Only CPR Mobile Tour is returning to Purdue's West Lafayette campus on Tuesday (Oct. 11). Faculty and staff still have time to join one of the tour’s 30-minute training sessions.

Registration is still available for all of the five sessions being offered in the North Ballroom of the Purdue Memorial Union. Sessions are at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Pre-registration at http://www.cvent.com/d/1vq07d will speed up the check-in process and ensure a spot for the employee. Faculty and staff who prefer to stop by will be admitted to any session that is not full. Classes start promptly, and participants should arrive about 10 minutes ahead of time. This is not a CPR certification course.

Purdue employees may attend in paid status with their supervisor's approval.

The Hands-Only CPR Mobile Tour, sponsored by the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation, will help participants identify and select songs they can use to learn and remember CPR. Using personalized music as a CPR teaching tool is a new focus of this year’s annual tour as part of efforts to train more people in this life-saving skill and contribute to the AHA’s goal of doubling bystander response during a cardiac arrest from 31 to 62 percent by 2020.
