BoilerConnect set to launch in January
BoilerConnect, formerly known as the Purdue Success Collaborative, will launch a pilot in the spring and help participating staff members from a variety of campus units create a coordinated support system that ensures all students get the support they need when they need it.
The virtual platform combines predictive analytics with communication and workflow tools to help support and retain students and provide a successful path for graduation, says Frank Dooley, vice provost for teaching and learning.
For example, if an advisor recommends that a student visit the Academic Success Center, the advisor could make the referral in the BoilerConnect system. ASC staff would then be notified about the referral, and could reach out to the student as well, he says.
Initial participants in the pilot launch include advisors in the College of Health and Human Sciences and College of Science; Purdue Promise coaches; the Academic Success Center; and College Success advisors.
BoilerConnect will help Purdue achieve its goals of increasing undergraduate retention and graduation rates and eliminating achievement gaps for low-income and first-generation students. It will provide seamless communication among all those who work with undergraduate students.
The platform is from the Educational Advisory Board, a provider of research, technology and consulting services to colleges and universities nationwide.
