Seminar to certify qualified administrators for Intercultural Development Inventory
The Intercultural Learning Team within International Programs is holding a seminar on Sept. 28-30 to certify qualified administrators for the Intercultural Development Inventory.
The seminar, which will take place at the Hall for Discovery and Learning Research, is open to Purdue faculty, staff and graduate students.
The Intercultural Development Inventory assesses intercultural competence -- the capability to shift cultural perspective and appropriately adapt behavior to cultural differences and commonalities. Attendance at an IDI Qualifying Seminar and consent to a licensing agreement is required to use the IDI Assessment. During the seminar, participants will gain proficiency in using the IDI for increasing intercultural competence for individuals, teams and organizations; learn how to interpret individual and group IDI profiles of intercultural competence; and practice giving IDI feedback.
With subsidy support from the dean of international programs, the seminar cost is $600. Traditionally, many supervisors on campus have been willing to contribute to covering that cost for participants.
Those interested in joining the seminar should contact Kris Acheson-Clair, intercultural learning specialist, at kacheson@purdue.edu or 494-2478.
