Purdue United Way Campaign offering new incentives for donations

The 2016 Purdue United Way Campaign, which kicks off today (Sept. 1), will offer new incentives available to everyone who chooses to donate through the ePledge portal.

Individuals who donate will be entered into a weekly prize drawing. The following prizes, along with others, will be offered throughout the campaign:

* Reserved parking space for one week.

* Full-day Paid Time Off.

* Amazon Echo.

* Amazon gift cards.

* Two tickets to a Purdue Convocations event.

* Two tickets to a Purdue men’s basketball.

* Four tickets in the lower arena for a Purdue women's basketball.

* Four general admission tickets to a Purdue volleyball match.

* Two tickets in the Shively Club for the Purdue vs. University of Nevada football game on Sept. 24.

* Two tickets to the Purdue Christmas Show at 8 p.m. Dec. 3.

* Four passes to tour the Exotic Feline Rescue Center in Center Point, Indiana.

Employees selected for a prize will be notified via email. Employees who make a donation and have not won a prize will remain eligible for the prize drawing throughout the campaign. Once an employee gets selected, they will no longer be in the pool for the drawing.

Also this year, the Eli Lilly Endowment will match dollar for dollar any increase or new donation of $100 or more. To see the complete listing of incentives offered this year, visit the Purdue United Way website here.

Faculty and staff will make donations through the campaign's new ePledge online system, which offers a quicker, safer and greener way to make and accept donations. As in years past, donors have the ability to donate an unrestricted gift to the United Way of Greater Lafayette or can choose a specific agency for their donations. Gifts can be made in various ways, including payroll deduction or a one-time donation. For credit card transactions, the United Way of Greater Lafayette contracts with CyberSource, a trusted name in e-commerce meeting industry security standards. More details about ePledge are available in this Purdue Today story.

The campaign will go through Nov. 16. For more information about ePledge and the Purdue United Way Campaign, contact Becky Hershey at unitedway@purdue.edu or 49-49240.
