Historian to speak on race relations and redemption

Fred Johnson, a professor specializing in U.S. history, will speak Tuesday (June 21) on the subject of race relations and redemption.

Johnson, associate professor of history at Hope College in Holland, Michigan, has titled his talk "That Was Then; This Is Now." He will speak at 2:45 p.m. at Purdue's Black Cultural Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Johnson is a scholar of the U.S. Civil War and the nation in the 19th and 20th centuries. His appearance is sponsored Toastmasters at Purdue.
