College of Health and Human Sciences to receive Arthur G. Hansen Recognition Award

The 2016 recipient of the Arthur G. Hansen Recognition Award is the College of Health and Human Sciences, with special recognition to its Office of Student Services. The Arthur G. Hansen Recognition Award was created to recognize the efforts of any University unit that cultivates and maintains meaningful relationships with its retirees.

Mary Alice Nebold, a Purdue retiree who worked the final 25 years of her career in student services -- having been named assistant dean for undergraduate student services in 1990 -- nominated HHS for the award. HHS retirees routinely receive notifications and invitations to faculty, staff, student and alumni recognition receptions, luncheons and dinners as well as college- and department-sponsored programs and lectures. The nomination stated that the continuing connections foster meaningful interactions with the current HHS staff and students as well as with former colleagues and students.

The award is presented by the Purdue University Retirees Association and the Office of the President.  It is funded by TIAA and consists of a cash award of $2,500, a trophy and the addition of the name of the recipient on a permanent plaque in Purdue Memorial Union.

The award will be presented to HHS with special recognition to the Office of Student Services at the Purdue retirement recognition luncheon on June 30. The recipients are also recognized in September at the annual fall PURA Kickoff Luncheon.
