Purdue to mark anniversary of '90s men's basketball Big Ten championship teams

Purdue will honor the 20th anniversary of the University's "3-Pete" Big Ten men’s basketball championship teams from 1994 to 1996 on Saturday (Jan. 30) during the Purdue vs. Nebraska game at Mackey Arena. Special apparel also is now available to mark the anniversary.

Players and coaches from those memorable squads will be introduced at halftime, and Hall of Fame head coach Gene Keady will address the crowd.

As part of the celebration, Purdue Trademarks and Licensing has worked with Indianapolis licensee 19nine to introduce special vintage designs to commemorate the event, including replica '96 throwback basketball shorts and a "3-Pete" T-shirt featuring a vintage Purdue Pete mascot from the mid-'90s.

The shorts and T-shirt are available at University Book Store, Purdue Team Store and Follett's bookstore in Purdue West, and on www.19nine.com. Prices range from $24.99 to $59.99.
