MLK Day of Service

About 400 Purdue volunteers honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by helping local community agencies during the MLK Day of Service on Monday (Jan. 18). Volunteers spent time with community service agencies in Tippecanoe County, including those that work with animals, children, seniors, health care and the homeless. The event was coordinated by Purdue's Civic Engagement & Leadership Development Office within Student Activities and Organizations. A photo gallery of the day's activities is available here.

Purdue will continue its 2016 MLK celebration, "The Fierce Urgency of Now," with the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Address by Freeman A. Hrabowski III, president of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, at 7 p.m. today (Jan. 19) in Stewart Center's Loeb Playhouse.
