August 28, 2015
Faculty and staff are invited to attend the 2015 Purdue Academic Advising Association Fall Conference and Retreat, co-sponsored by PACADA and the University Undergraduate Advising Office.
The retreat will take place 8:30 a.m.-4:15 p.m. Sept. 22 at Beck Agricultural Center, 4540 U.S. 52 West. The keynote speaker is George Kuh, Chancellor's Professor Emeritus of Higher Education at Indiana University and adjunct professor at the University of Illinois. Kuh is a prolific researcher and scholar in the areas of institutional improvement, student engagement, assessment strategies and campus culture. More information on Kuh is here.
Kuh will speak from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Other activities during the retreat include workshops on "Responding Positively to Conflict" and "Collaborating Through Teamwork," course previews of "History of Rock and Roll" and "Wine Tasting," and yoga and Zumba sessions. Those interested in attending only the keynote address may do so, but still pay the full cost for the retreat.
The cost of the retreat is $35 for nonmembers of PACADA or $45 for the retreat and a yearlong PACADA membership. Those who are already members of PACADA attend free. Register by Sept. 14 at https://www.purdue.edu/pacada/join-pacada.
