Purdue’s Julie Rosa named 2026 Top Woman in Communications

Julie Rosa has been honored by Ragan Communications for her role in expertly leading central communications and public relations at Purdue.

Julie Rosa, Purdue’s vice president for communications, has been selected by Ragan Communications to join its 2026 Class of Top Women in Communications, an honor that recognizes the leaders, innovators, mentors, creators and trailblazers who define excellence in the industry.

Rosa, who oversees Purdue’s media relations and internal, executive and crisis communications, was selected for her proficiency in streamlining messaging, propelling units forward and transforming potential obstacles into opportunities for improvement.

During her three decades at Purdue, Rosa has been instrumental in advancing the university’s land-grant mission and cementing its status as world-renowned higher education institution.

“Her steady presence, strategic insight and unwavering commitment, paired with her sharp instincts, have strengthened Purdue while elevating communications across higher education nationally,” says Purdue President Mung Chiang. “Whether she’s navigating a complex issue on campus or collaborating with national higher ed partners, Julie is a trusted voice, a respected partner and an exceptional leader.”

Rosa is honored alongside communications leaders from global organizations including United Airlines, Hilton, Target, Aflac and Google DeepMind. She and other recipients will be recognized during a March ceremony in New York City hosted by Ragan.
