Faculty, staff, graduate student staff and retirees at the West Lafayette and Indianapolis locations can now register for Spring Fling activities and volunteer opportunities. The annual appreciation event is set to take place from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 22 at and around Memorial Mall.

Registration for Spring Fling activities is available online, along with this year’s door prize entry form. To enter the drawing for door prizes, individuals should print out the form, complete it, bring it to Spring Fling and deposit it at the information table by 2 p.m. All winners will be notified May 23 via email or phone.

Activity registrations

The classic vehicle show is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the northwest corner of Oval Drive. Faculty, staff and retirees interested in displaying their antique, classic and show cars; trucks; motorcycles; and other vehicles can register for a spot until 5 p.m. May 16. Special awards will be presented at the end of the show, and all participants will receive an event dash plate.

Tee times for the golf outing at the Ackerman-Allen Course will be available on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 9:30 a.m. The price to play 18 holes is $60 with a cart and $40 without, and Purdue staff IDs will be checked as players sign in. To reserve a tee time, call 496-9313.

Registration for the three-mile, noncompetitive fitness walk around campus is open until 5 p.m. May 16 and is required for those who would like to participate and receive a medal. Participants can begin the walk between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. and must finish by 3:30 p.m. The first 700 who sign up and participate will receive a medal.

Employees who cannot make it to campus for Spring Fling can also participate in the fitness walk remotely. Additional details can be found on the Spring Fling remote staff engagement webpage.

All other activities, including musical entertainment, yard games, bingo, lunch and the blood drive, will not require registration. View the Spring Fling map for a full list of activities around Memorial Mall and their locations.

Volunteer opportunities

Spring Fling is a success each year thanks to the help of approximately 250 volunteers. The Spring Fling committee is inviting employees and retirees to register as volunteers by 5 p.m. April 30. Those who sign up will receive a free Spring Fling T-shirt and three additional entries for the door prize drawing.

Volunteers will be assigned responsibilities like setting up and tearing down tables, chairs and tents; refilling food items; blowing up balloons; and assisting event attendees at the information table. Volunteers will be contacted ahead of the event with their time slot and task.
