Nominations sought for 2024 outstanding senior international students

The Martin C. Jischke Outstanding International Student of the Year Award is presented annually each spring to honor a Purdue undergraduate international student who has helped the university welcome and connect people of all cultures. 

Faculty and staff are invited to nominate students who best fulfill the following requirements:

  • Graduating undergraduate senior who has attained a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (an undergraduate student graduating in December 2023, May 2024 or August 2024)
  • Commitment to scholarship (academic achievement or recognition in research, publications, presentations, etc.)
  • Commitment to leadership (demonstrated at Purdue through department, student organization or employment affiliation)
  • Commitment to service (specifically someone who welcomes and connects people of all cultures both on and off campus)
  • Outstanding character 

Jischke, president emeritus who served as Purdue’s 10th president from 2000-07, established this award to honor a student who not only excels academically, but also demonstrates exemplary volunteer service “connecting people of all cultures.”

All nominations must be submitted electronically in the 2024 Martin C. Jischke International Student Award Nomination Form by noon on Friday, March 15. 

The award recipient will be selected by a committee in late March and receive a monetary award from the Martin C. Jischke Endowment.
