Daytime campus parking impacts Aug. 31-Sept. 1 for Boilermaker football home opener

Faculty, staff and students should plan ahead for campus parking impacts during business hours on Wednesday (Aug. 31) and Thursday (Sept. 1) for the first home football game Thursday evening.

“Most home football games occur on the weekends when parking is less impacted for the campus community,” said Keene Red Elk, director of logistics. “This game happens to be an exception for the season where parking will be restricted a couple days during the work week.”

Affected parking is shown on the football gameday parking map on the Purdue Athletics website and listed below.

On Wednesday, the north end of the Córdova Recreational Sports Center surface lot (RV3) will be towed beginning at 2 p.m. Upper H/RV1, RV2 and RV4 lots will be towed beginning at 5 p.m.

North campus parking lots and street parking, especially those around Ross-Ade Stadium, Mackey Arena and Holloway Gymnasium, will be towed beginning at 7 a.m. Thursday. Locations include the following:

  • A, C, F, FB Staff, G, H (upper and lower), K, M, O, P, Q, R, S, U, W, Y, Z, AA, BB, FF, EE RV1, RV3, PP lots
  • Hill Top “loop”
  • Horticulture Park parking lot
  • John Wooden Drive from Stadium Avenue to Tower Drive
  • Lawson Computer Science Building, lot north of (FF)
  • Northwest Athletic Complex, baseball and softball parking lots
  • Northwestern Avenue Parking Garage, top level
  • Owen Residence Hall north lot, north of Tower Drive only
  • Ross-Ade Stadium ramps
  • Schowe House
  • Third Street between McCormick Road and McCutcheon Drive
  • Tower Drive from John Wooden Drive to Martin Jischke Drive
  • University Street Parking Garage, top level

Additionally, the Northwestern Avenue and University Street parking garages will become athletic event parking at 3 p.m. Thursday. All vehicles entering these garages after 3 p.m., including those with a University parking permit, will be charged the event parking rate or must show a prepaid, digital athletic parking permit to gain access. Visit the football gameday parking webpage for more information.

Normal University parking operations will resume after the game ends.

Impacted parking areas will have pink tow warning signs posted in advance that include dates and tow times. All University vehicles should be removed from posted areas before the listed tow times. Towed vehicles will be taken to the Discovery Park parking lot.

Motorists should remove their vehicles from these locations before the tow times and seek alternate parking. Individuals who park in alternate locations may benefit from CityBus routes in the vicinity. The campus community can download the CityBus mobile app and sign up for service alerts to be notified of route changes and to plan trips. Additional information about routes and maps is available on the CityBus website.

University business parking questions, including those related to accessible parking, may be directed to Parking and Transportation Services from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 765-494-9497 or parking@purdue.edu.

Questions related to athletic gameday parking permits should be directed to the Hayes Family Athletics Ticket Office at 765-494-3194 or sporttix@athletics.purdue.edu from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
