Convergence Center Connections networking event set for today

The campus community is invited to the Convergence Center Connections networking event at 2-6:30 p.m. today (April 22), hosted by the College of Agriculture, College of Engineering, Office of Industry Partnerships and Purdue Research Foundation.

A keynote discussion on the "Future of Where Agriculture and Engineering Best Intersect" will be held at 4 p.m. with Karen Plaut, the Glenn W. Sample Dean of Agriculture, and Mung Chiang, the John A. Edwardson Dean of the College of Engineering. Mitch Frazier, CEO of AgriNovus, will act as moderater, and Jay Akridge, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs and diversity, will provide opening remarks.

The event also will feature poster networking sessions by the College of Agriculture, College of Engineering and Institute of Food Technologists Indiana Section and the "Fermentation Frenzy," a celebration of the various forms of fermentation from home-fermented vegetables to breweries and distilleries to industrial fermentation. Food and beverage trucks will be available; attendees receive a coupon for a free beverage or food item.

Attendees may register for the free event in the Convergence Center foyer. Activities will be held in tents east of Convergence Center, and free parking is available south of the building.
