College of Liberal Arts to celebrate Love Liberal Arts week

The College of Liberal Arts will celebrate its seventh annual Love Liberal Arts week Feb. 14-18. A series of free events will serve as a reminder of the many ways liberal arts enrich people's work and cultural lives.

Free Love Liberal Arts T-shirts will be available beginning Monday (Feb. 14) to students who visit the Liberal Arts Career Center (Beering Hall, Room 1289) and write on a Post-It note why they love liberal arts. The notes will create a collage of goodwill and appreciation on the windows of the dean’s office.

A highlight of the celebration is Road Map to the Real World, a networking opportunity that will connect alumni with current students. Alumni will share how to begin career exploration and navigate an internship or employment by building and leveraging a professional network. The event is open to all Liberal Arts students at 6 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 15) in Stewart Center, Room 218.

These activities are open to everyone on campus:

  • Student trivia night at 5:30 p.m. Monday (Feb. 14) in the Marriott Hall Atrium.
  • Hot chocolate giveaways across campus.
  • An American Red Cross blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 15) in the Armory.
  • Free professional headshot photos for students, faculty and staff from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday (Feb. 15-16) in Beering Hall, Room 1284.

A full list of events and locations is available online.
