Greater Lafayette region wins state economic development funds
The state of Indiana on Tuesday (Dec. 14) awarded the Greater Lafayette region $30 million to support initiatives to retain and attract workforce talent.
Purdue University partnered on the Greater Lafayette Commerce proposal for READI, or the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative.
“Purdue is proud to be part of this extraordinary opportunity for the Greater Lafayette region,” said Mung Chiang, Purdue’s executive vice president for strategic initiatives and the John A. Edwardson Dean of Engineering. “This is a testament to the seamless collaboration between the region and the university in strategic areas, working successfully to develop a bold vision that will attract, develop and retain talent in Indiana. We look forward to creating jobs and knowledge together with Greater Lafayette and regional stakeholders.”
