IDSI to host Virtual Coffee Klatch on cyberinfrastructure, data science resourcing for health sciences

Purdue’s Integrative Data Science Initiative (IDSI) is hosting a Virtual Coffee Klatch on Feb. 11. The virtual meeting is the first in a three-part series. IDSI will host panelists to discuss “Cyberinfrastructure and Data Science Resourcing for Health Sciences."

Opening remarks will be provided by the following panelists, with general discussion and breakout sessions to follow:

  • Darshan Shah, senior vice president and chief data officer, BioCrossroads.
  • Umberto Tachinardi, chief information officer, Regenstrief Institute, and professor of biostatistics, Indiana University School of Medicine.
  • Nitesh Chawla, the Frank Freimann Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, Concurrent Professor of Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics, director of the Interdisciplinary Center for Network Science and Applications (iCeNSA), founding director of the Lucy Family Institute for Data and Society, director of the Data Inference Analysis and Learning Lab (DIAL), University of Notre Dame.
  • Mohammad Adibuzzaman, assistant director of data and computing, Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering, Purdue University.
  • Preston Smith, executive director of research computing, Purdue University.
  • Catherine (Cate) Hill, interim co-director, Integrative Data Science Initiative, and professor of entomology, College of Agriculture, Purdue University.

The meeting will be held at 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. through WebEx. Participants can register up to Monday (Feb. 8).
