Discovery Park extends student application deadline for two DURI projects
Discovery Park is extending the student application deadline for two recently added Discovery Park Undergraduate Research Internship (DURI) projects this fall. The two projects for which DURI will still accept student applications are "VR Modeling for Historical Projects," led by Professor Sorin Matei, and "Security of Power Systems in Satellites," led by Professor Ashraf Alam. Applicants from a variety of majors across campus with relevant knowledge, skills and abilities as well as a diverse range of backgrounds and demographics are encouraged to apply.
Undergraduates can view more info about these projects and apply until 11:59 p.m. Aug. 31. Faculty project supervisors will then review all eligible student applications before making final selections as soon as possible to allow for projects to run from early September until the end of the semester.
Students selected this fall will be responsible for pursuing their research projects, culminating with a poster presentation in the Fall Undergraduate Research Expo (hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Research) and a one-page abstract/summary of their results. Assuming all requirements are met, each participating student will earn a $1,000 fall semester fellowship from the DURI program.
More information is available on the DURI website or by emailing duristudent@purdue.edu.
