General Education Conference coming virtually from Purdue Global school
The School of General Education in Purdue University Global will hold its 12th annual virtual General Education Conference on April 28-30. The theme of the conference is "Mission Accepted: Go Beyond with General Education."
Since 2009, the School of General Education has hosted the virtual conference, in which Purdue faculty and staff share best practices, research, discipline-specific information and more. Organizers are expecting more than 60 presentations and 400 participants for the 2020 conference.
Highlights of the conference include:
* A keynote presentation on general education and industry by Joyce Lucke, executive director of the Association for General and Liberal Studies, and Stephen Biscotte, director of general education at Virginia Tech.
* Lightning sessions consisting of a fast-paced series of images on a variety of relevant and timely topics to ignite new thinking from the audience.
* Daily diversity spotlight sessions in celebration of Purdue Global's Diversity Month.
The conference is free and open to members of the Purdue community. Registration is recommended and can be found with additional information, including the conference schedule and panel sessions, online.
