Purdue Global to present online conference focused on teaching, innovation, presence
Faculty and staff are invited to register for the TIP 2020 Conference hosted by Purdue Global's College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. TIP stands for teaching, innovation and presence.
The online conference, which is set for Feb. 10-12, will address current and future trends in higher education, reflect innovative and cutting-edge content, and deliver research-based principles and practices. This year's theme is "Transforming Education Globally: Engage, Explore, Evolve."
The conference will feature individual, group and poster presentations as well as a student showcase on poster, research, and panel sessions. All conference proceedings are completed in a virtual environment so travel is not a requirement.
The keynote presenter is Carolyn Nordstrom, vice president of faculty and academic resources for Purdue University Global. George Hanshaw, instructor of learning design and technology in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, will present on “Using the S3 model to enhance connectedness and intrinsic motivation to learn for online learners.” Renee Thomas, director of the Black Cultural Center, will present a poster about “Cultural Immersion Experience.” The full list of presenters is available here.
TIP 2020 also will feature a student showcase, where students will present on their research or scholarly activity individually, in a poster presentation or on a panel discussion.
Registration may be completed online, and the registration deadline is Feb. 7. The TIP Conference is held in an online forum, and session URLs are included in the conference agenda.
