Butler Center Roundtable series to focus on faculty retention
The Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence is continuing its Butler Center Roundtable series this semester. The roundtable on Nov. 7 will focus on faculty retention.
The Butler Center Roundtables series is intended to facilitate discussion on diversity and inclusion in higher education on campus. Each discussion will revolve around research articles on topics such as faculty careers, challenges faced by faculty of color, graduate education, and issues about inclusion or other similar topics. Articles for each roundtable will be provided before the roundtable through the Butler Center's email list, or participants may email butlercenter@purdue.edu to request the links to the articles.
The roundtable on faculty retention is scheduled for noon-1:30 p.m. at Purdue Memorial Union's West Faculty Lounge. Lunch will be provided.
The lead discussants are Dorothy Reed, assistant dean for engagement, College of Education, Purdue University; Susie Swithers, professor, neuroscience and behavior, Purdue University. Secondary commentators are Janet Alsup, professor and head, Curriculum and Instruction, Purdue University; Elizabeth Akey, clinical assistant professor, Psychological Sciences, Purdue University; Stacey Connaughton, associate professor, Communication, and director, Purdue Policy Research Institute.
