Kids cooking classes for the Purdue community

The Demonstration Kitchen at the Córdova Recreational Sports Center will offer cooking classes for kids on Saturdays this semester. The classes will teach valuable knowledge and life skills, including basic culinary skills, food safety information and how to make healthy food choices.

Classes will be held at 10-11 a.m. for ages 5-8 and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. for ages 9-12 on the following dates:

* Feb. 2 – Little Italy, featuring mini caprese salad, garlic bread pasta and kid-friendly tiramisu.

* March 2 – California Kids, featuring West Coast acai bowls, avocado toast, and iced green teach matcha latte.

* April 6 – Take Me to Spain, featuring alcohol-free sangria, Spanish omelets and magdalenas: Spanish lemon cupcakes.

A child is eligible if the child's family is affiliated with Purdue. Membership at the center, known as the "Co-Rec," is not required, but eligibility for membership is. Sign-up should be done in advance at the Member Services desk or by calling 765-494-3109, and registration must be made by the Friday before each session. The cost is $10 per session.
