Butler Center Roundtables series to focus on avoiding bias, crafting curriculum

The Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence is continuing its Butler Center Roundtables series this semester. The roundtable on April 10 will focus on avoiding bias and crafting curriculum.

The Butler Center Roundtables series is intended to facilitate discussion on diversity and inclusion in higher education on campus. Each discussion will revolve around research articles on topics such as faculty careers, challenges faced by faculty of color, graduate education, and issues about inclusion or other similar topics. Articles for each roundtable will be provided before the roundtable through the Butler Center's email list, or participants may email butlercenter@purdue.edu to request the links to the articles.

The roundtable on avoiding bias and crafting curriculum is scheduled for noon-1:30 p.m. April 10 at Dauch Alumni Center. Lunch will be provided.

The lead discussants are Ximena Arriaga, professor of psychological sciences, and Elena Benedicto, professor of English. The secondary commentators are Neil Knobloch, professor of agricultural sciences education and communication, and Manushag Powell, associate professor of English.

Registration for the roundtable discussion must be completed online. For more information, contact butlercenter@purdue.edu.
