Butler Center unveils new programming; first event set for Aug. 28

The Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence is unveiling two new series in the 2018-19 academic year: "Did You Know? Information About Resources on Campus" and the Butler Center Roundtables. The first "Did You Know" event is set for Aug. 28.

Purdue provides a wide variety of resources to faculty to ensure they succeed in doing research, teaching and engaging with the community, says Mangala Subramaniam, chair and director of the Butler Center. The goal of these series is to share information about campus resources and enable a broader discussion of scholarship that addresses bias, inclusion and retention among all constituencies on campus. These initiatives are intended to facilitate the success of faculty, staff and students, which in turn can contribute to the leadership pipeline.

In addition to the new series, the Butler Center is also planning a new conference for Purdue associates for spring 2019. More details will be available in December.

The Aug. 28 "Did You Know" event is set for noon-1:30 p.m. in Stewart Center, Room 302. Registration is available online. Faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend. The event will also serve as the center's welcome back reception.

Faculty (tenure track and clinical), postdocs and graduate students also are encouraged to register for the Butler Center's Conference for Pre-tenure Women set for Sept. 6-7. Information about the conference and registration is available here.
