Documentary about women and their tech startups to be shown

The feature-length documentary "She Started It," telling the stories of five women tech entrepreneurs, will be shown at 5 p.m. Wednesday (March 28) in the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship, Room 121.

The screening is free but requires an RSVP by Monday (March 26). The event is being sponsored by the Women in Engineering Program, the Jane Brock-Wilson Center for Women in Management, the Certificate in Entrepreneurship Program, WomenIN and the Purdue Foundry.

Shot on location in Silicon Valley, New York City, Europe, Vietnam, Mississippi and elsewhere, the film aims to highlight successful role models for young women. It is the first film to show the behind-the-scenes aspects of running a tech startup as a young woman.

The film, released in 2013, has a trailer online here. The event will include refreshments.
