Purdue partners with Pacers Foundation to dedicate basketball courts honoring Indiana Fever legends

INDIANAPOLIS — Purdue University and the Pacers Foundation, alongside community partners and city leaders, gathered Wednesday (Sept. 16) to dedicate two basketball courts honoring Indiana Fever legends Tamika Catchings and Stephanie White.

Purdue leaders were in attendance to celebrate the refurbished courts — located at Tarkington Park in the Butler-Tarkington neighborhood of Indianapolis — which are named after White, current Fever head coach, former Fever player and 1999 NCAA champion at Purdue; and Catchings, former Fever star forward, WNBA champion and Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee.

“As Boilermakers, we are thankful to partner with the Pacers Foundation to celebrate these basketball legends and two iconic brands,” said David Umulis, Purdue’s senior vice provost for Indianapolis. “Purdue will continue to be a willing and proactive partner in making this community and world-class city champions in every sense of the word.”

The courts will serve the neighborhood and larger central Indianapolis community.
