Purdue trustees honor retiring President Daniels, approve naming of MEP, and renovation/building plans

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. —

Purdue’s Board of Trustees on Friday (Dec. 2) honored Mitch Daniels, who is set to retire after a decadelong run as the university’s 12th president. The board also approved the naming of the Minority Engineering Program and renovations to the Mechanical Engineering Building, recognized Provost Jay Akridge and welcomed a new Purdue Global board member, among its actions.

  • Purdue trustees approve naming Don and Liz Thompson Minority Engineering Program, resolutions of appreciation and other namings; recognize Provost Akridge
  • Purdue trustees ratify faculty positions, award posthumous degrees, approve name changes
  • Trustees approve renovations to Mechanical Engineering Building at Purdue West Lafayette, preparatory actions for new residence hall at Purdue Fort Wayne
