Appointments, honors and activities

Appointments and promotions:

– The College of Health and Human Sciences has announced that Christopher Coleman will now serve as head of the School of Nursing and the inaugural associate dean for clinical education starting July. Coleman joins Purdue from the Indiana University School of Nursing-Fort Wayne, where he currently serves as associate dean and professor

– Karen McGregor has been named executive director of student success for Purdue University Global. She will begin May 2, with a focus on improving the student experience throughout the university. McGregor comes to Purdue Global from Northwood University, where she most recently served as associate academic dean of student success. McGregor earned a Doctor of Philosophy from Michigan State University’s Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education program. She holds a Master of Arts degree in student affairs from Eastern Michigan University.

Faculty and staff honors:

–  F. Robert Sabol, professor of Art Education and assistant head in the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance, has earned the Eisner Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Art Education Association. This award recognizes an individual for lifetime professional achievements that have advanced art and art education. The award was presented in New York at the National Awards Ceremony this month.
