Healthy choices | Happy families | At the Center of all we do
All benefits-eligible employees, including those who do not participate in a Purdue medical plan, as well as dependents covered on a Purdue health plan, can utilize health and wellness care at the Center for Healthy Living (CHL).
The CHL offers a wide range of services to treat common illnesses, mange chronic conditions, provide preventive care and promote overall wellness. The CHL is a proud sponsor of the Healthy Boiler Program, and the CHL physicians, nurse practitioners and other health care professionals are dedicated to knowing you, your medical background and your needs to provide the following:
- Primary care and wellness – annual physicals, cholesterol screenings, bloodwork and more
- Preventive care is provided for you and your covered family members age 8 weeks and older – including annual physicals/well-child visits – at no charge.*
- In 2020, 20 percent of the Purdue population sought primary care at the CHL.
- Treatment for common illnesses – stomachache, cough, flu, sinus infections and more
- Health coaching – tobacco cessation, weight management, stress management and more
- 680 Purdue employees/spouses participate in coaching at the CHL.
- 3,110 Purdue employees/spouses have high-risk biometric results; 15 percent of those individuals are participating in health coaching.
- Employee assistance counseling – anxiety, depression, personal issues, family issues, work issues and more
- Special services – Coumadin clinic, body comp testing, sports physicals, flu shots, care for pregnant patients and more
- Pregnant patients can be seen at the CHL for acute visits (sinus infections, ear aches, etc.). Additionally, the CHL can refill pre-pregnancy medications.
