This field day, hosted by Purdue Extension-Organic Agriculture, will provide an overview of Klemp Family Farms, where the Klemp family manages 4200 acres of field crops, with 1400 transitional acres and 350 certified organic acres.  We’ll learn about how the Klemp’s started into organic grain production, their strategy for transitioning acreage, and the evolution of their organic crop rotations.  Learn about mechanical weed control, soil health in organic cropping systems and no-till organic soybean production, use of different manures in organic nutrient management, and more.

Please note that with Klemp Family Farms being located in Wheatfield, they are on CENTRAL time.  The field day registration begins at 8:30, with the program scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. central.
