Paltseva Highlights Soil’s Role in Sustainable Fashion at Climate Week NYC

Speaker presents at the Regenerative Textile Forum during Climate Week NYC, alongside an image of a published article linking healthy soil to sustainable fashion systems.
Anna Paltseva gave an invited talk at the Regenerative Textile Forum during Climate Week NYC. The forum, hosted by Why Regenerative, gathered brands, farmers, designers, and sustainability leaders. Her talk, “Soil: Fashion’s Missing Metric,” argued that soil is where natural fibers begin and where textile waste ends, yet fashion’s sustainability frameworks rarely measure it. She proposed a four-node, soil-grounded chemical traceability framework that follows contaminants from farm soil through fiber, manufacturing, and back to soil at end of life. The talk draws on her new commentary in Chem Circularity, “No sustainable fashion system can exist without healthy soil“
