Ambassador Q & A (Questions and Answers)

Why did you choose Purdue?

I chose Purdue because it is a highly respected university in the United States, with amazing research programs and student development programs that help me to advance in my field of study and as an individual.

What is your favorite fact about Purdue?

My favorite thing about Purdue is that it is an all-inclusive university. It accepts people from all over the world, with their unique backgrounds, and puts those varied backgrounds to use in creative research and developing new ideas in different areas.

Career goal?

Complete my Master’s Degree, and each day be better and learn new things to be a competitive person in the Industrial Design market.

What apps, software, or tools can’t you live without?

Facebook, Instagram, Alarm App, Rhinoceros, KeyShot, Illustrator, After Effects, Photoshop, YouTube, Amazon.

What’s your workspace setup?

I am an Industrial Designer, so my workspace is set up for creating and designing different objects. In some of my other classes I use a desktop computer to create my designs. When I am at work as a Social Media Coordinator for the Graduate School, I have been provided with a large desk with different compartments and a desktop computer with 2 screens. On the desk I keep a container with various tools (scissors, highlighters, pens, pencils, and a cutting tool). I also have speakers, headphones, a lot of Post-It notes, and some snacks in the top cupboard when I am hungry.

If you have free time, how do you choose to spend it?

I like to spend my time attending different events around the Purdue campus, and in Lafayette and West Lafayette. There are events all during the year, and there are always things to do. Sometimes I like going out with my friends for lunch or dinner, or during the evening having a drink at one of the local bars. The nightlife around Purdue is really enjoyable.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Not everybody is going to like you, and that is okay. You just need to ignore them if you can, and just do a great job.
