2017 Debate Competition

The ESE Symposium will feature a debate competition with topics related to climate change. In partnership with Purdue’s Petticrew Debate Forum, teams of two will defend and rebuke key topics on climate change related to economics, conflicts, alternative energy, and climate adaptation. The first 16 teams to respond will get to compete in the preliminary rounds held on Tuesday, September 19th in Krannert Hall from 6-9 pm. The final four teams will compete the following Tuesday, September 26th from 1:30-3:30 in Stewart Center 214 ABCD.  

Follow the link below to register your team. Each team only needs to have one registration. Once signed up, an email giving instructions and the topics covered will be sent out a few days before for preparation. Below are documents explaining how the debate rounds will be ran and the rules for this particular debate.

Information Release

By submitting a poster/presentation, the applicant authorizes the Ecological Sciences and Engineering Interdisciplinary Graduate Program to share all information related to the poster/presentation (or subsequent award), including a photo, on the internet, in press releases, and in relevant program literature.
