Who are we?
We are Purdue students for the arts! Convocations Volunteer Network (CVN) was officially established in 1985 to support and promote the performing arts presentations brought to campus by Purdue Convocations. Today, CVN has a membership of more than 300 students from various majors and backgrounds and participates in every performance of the season.
CVN Volunteers get to experience the performing arts on Purdue’s campus for FREE!
CVN is a partner of Purdue Convocations, which gives us the opportunity to provide volunteers to usher for all their events on campus. The events are held in Elliott Hall of Music, Loeb Playhouse, and Fowler Hall, and they offer a wide range of exciting performances each season. Our ushers have gotten to see hot bands like Panic! At the Disco, famous speakers like Bill Nye, classical musicians from all over the world, and top Broadway productions like Rent and Cinderella. The best part: all members ushering for a given show are invited to stay and see that show for FREE!
CVN also takes part in a variety of special events, including receptions with the performers, parties with the patrons, and lots of social activities. Our E-board is dedicated to making CVN a community you will love here at Purdue. Everything is optional, and you get to pick how involved you want to be!
