As executive director of creative at Purdue Brand Studio, Emily Richwine guides the development of storytelling that brings Purdue’s most meaningful narratives to life. In her role, she leads teams across writing, design, web, photo, video and creative operations, shaping how Purdue’s story is told to the world. With a foundation in journalism and a career spanning both agency and in-house leadership, Emily is known for her ability to connect strategy with emotionally resonant creative that captures attention and moves people to action.
A proud Purdue alumna, Emily began her career as a journalist, writing for publications including Minority Business Entrepreneur, where she traveled the country profiling business owners and industry leaders. That early experience honed her instinct for finding the heart of a story — a skill that continues to guide her work today.
She later built her career in the agency and retail space, holding creative leadership roles with brands and clients such as Vera Bradley, Arhaus, Peter Millar and Sherwin-Williams, where she developed campaigns rooted in strong visual identity and brand storytelling.
At Purdue, Emily brings that same perspective to a broader mission: telling stories that matter. She is passionate about exploring new formats, embracing emerging tools like AI for creativity and leadership, and finding the right way — not just the expected way — to reach audiences.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys practicing and teaching yoga, traveling, and spending time with her family.
