Jason Doty

Jason Doty brings a filmmaker’s perspective and a storyteller’s instinct to his role as director of Purdue Brand Studio Productions at Purdue University. An award-winning screenwriter and filmmaker, he has had his work screened at more than 25 international festivals and reached audiences in theaters nationwide.
Throughout his career, Jason has developed and sold screenplays to major studios, including Focus Features, and has pitched projects to Warner Bros., Amazon MGM Studios and Bad Robot. His experience spans both independent and studio filmmaking, shaping a creative approach grounded in narrative, craft and audience connection.
Jason earned his bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from Indiana University and an MFA from Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts. He also spent seven years teaching film and video studies at Purdue, mentoring students and helping develop the next generation of storytellers.
He is a member of the Writers Guild of America.
