Amy Patterson Neubert
Senior Director, Public Relations and Strategic Communications
Helping others tell Purdue’s most important stories is at the heart of Amy Patterson Neubert’s work. As director of external media strategy at Purdue University, she leads efforts to identify, shape and elevate the university’s most impactful research and innovation through earned media.
A two-time Purdue graduate, Amy holds degrees in English and health communication, with a focus on public relations and social marketing. She has been working in media relations at Purdue since 2002 and has a special interest in promoting research and science. She brings that expertise to the team of communicators she leads as they work with faculty and researchers, helping them translate complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with broader audiences. Her approach combines strategic thinking with a deep understanding of how to position stories for maximum reach and relevance.
Amy plays a key role in developing proactive media strategies and media relations prep that ensure Purdue’s discoveries are not only seen, but understood and valued. She is passionate about connecting people to the ideas shaping the future and believes strong storytelling can bridge the gap between research and real-world impact.
Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time outdoors, often hiking and exploring trails — a natural extension of her curiosity about the world around her.
